When Farmer Paul looks out the window of his red-painted large farm in the morning, his animals are already looking at him expectantly. Even before he treats himself to breakfast, he feeds the cow and calf, pig and piglets. Of course the cat gets something too, even though he was supposed to catch the curious mouse in the hayloft. Once all the animals have been taken care of, farmer Paul uses the winch to bring the hay to the hayloft. He drives the animals out to pasture so that he can clean the stables properly. The pigeon watches him from her little house on the roof and sometimes coos: Didn’t he forget a corner?
